A 14ct yellow gold Austrian-made nephrite jade and rose-coloured rock crystal flower brooch. The leafs are carved from jade and the flower is carved from rock crystal. The piece is stamped “585” which indicates a gold content of 14ct gold, and the maker’s mark is “F.U.”. The piece measures 60mm x 40mm. We purchased this pieces because of the quality of the carving and the beautiful soft rose colour of the flower. A beautiful piece.

Brereton Jewellers

Brereton Jewellers was established in 1916 at 108 Capel Street, Dublin. Specialising in both new and antique jewellery the business has grown with the city of Dublin. John's youngest son Jack joined the business in the 1930's. By the early 1970's the third generation of Breretons, Jack's sons John and Liam, joined the company.

Shortly afterwards they opened the company's second store on Chatham Street, Dublin. The third store, opposite the General Post Office (GPO) on Dublin's O'Connell Street, opened in 1986.

Starting in 2003 the fourth generation joined the family business. Paul Brereton joined in 2003 and Derek Brereton started in 2009. Paul graduated as a gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America in 2006. Both of them now works closely with the the third generation in the running of the three unique stores.
