A fine Silver Cow Creamer, Germany C.1900. imported into USA by Bucholz & Zelt. Made in 18th century style. The plain body of this vintage cow creamer is accented with realistic chased decoration of the details of the cow’s facial features and skin. The jug is fitted with a hinged cover, surmounted with finial realistically modelled in the form of a fly. This impressive creamer is fitted with a loop handle, modelled in the form of the cow’s tail. Condition: Very Good. Hallmarks to the underside. Dimensions: Length from back of tail to nose 4.5 inches. Width of body 1.50 inches. Height to horn 3.0 inches. Weight 115.71 grams. In the USA an importer was Bucholz & Zelt, located at 22 W 48th Str, New York identified by the mark B&Z. Import by B&Z (many by JD Schleissner & Sohne) began probably before 1890.
