George III Sterling Silver Teapot London 1792 Henry Chawner. The teapot of slight serpentine form, the straight reeded spout opposite an ebonized wood handle, bell form lid with oval knop carved ebony finial, the body decorated with bright cut, foliage and pin pricked decoration, central coat of arms to one side depicting a lion rampant ducally crowned and crest to other side of falcon with wings elevated and displayed supporting in dexter claw a tilting spear. Measures: 10.75 x 3.50 x 6.50 (height) inches. Gross weight: 17.70 oz. Fully hallmarked under base, lion passant to interior of cover and scratch weight on base17:9. Condition: good. Very slight age related wear to wood finial.
