Juventa Art Nouveau Jugendstil Pewter Claret Wine Jug C.1900. Large tapering wasted body decorated with stylised roses and foliate relief, with hinged lid and stylised handle stamped Juventa to base. Height: 13.00 inches. Width:7inches. Condition: original patina not polished up. No repairs. Made by Hans Peter for Juventa (1902-1908). After his education at the Art Academy in Stuttgart, Hans Peter started making designs for the WMF factory in 1884, from his own studio in Esslingen. In 1899 he founded a “Werkstatt fur Kunstgewerbe”. Under the name ‘Juventa prima metal’ and objects were produced in pure Jugendstil.
