Sapphire Square 18ct Gold Cufflinks

A pair French made 1970’s vintage cufflinks set with square cut sapphires. The two blue sapphires have a combined estimated weight of 1.05ct. The sapphires are framed by a section of matte finish white gold. The diameter of the cufflinks is 16.5mm. The cufflinks are made with 18ct white gold and weigh 12 grams. They are made with a swivel back to allow them to be adorned easily. The stem of the cufflink is stamped with two eagles head to signify that they are 18ct gold and made in France. The maker’s mark is “PA” with what appears to be a dice in between the letters.

Brereton Jewellers

Brereton Jewellers was established in 1916 at 108 Capel Street, Dublin. Specialising in both new and antique jewellery the business has grown with the city of Dublin. John's youngest son Jack joined the business in the 1930's. By the early 1970's the third generation of Breretons, Jack's sons John and Liam, joined the company.

Shortly afterwards they opened the company's second store on Chatham Street, Dublin. The third store, opposite the General Post Office (GPO) on Dublin's O'Connell Street, opened in 1986.

Starting in 2003 the fourth generation joined the family business. Paul Brereton joined in 2003 and Derek Brereton started in 2009. Paul graduated as a gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America in 2006. Both of them now works closely with the the third generation in the running of the three unique stores.
