										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Handmade and hammered sterling silver tea and coffee set with tray by the Master Silversmith Carl Poul Petersen of Montreal, Canada circa 1930. Fabulous quality blossom pattern set. Plain hand hammered bodies with blossom accents, similar tray decoration and curved ebony handles to ta and coffee pots. The set comprising sterling silver teapot, coffee pot, cream, sugar and tray. Height of Coffee Pot: 9.25 inches. Width of Coffee Pot: 10.75 inches Height of Teapot: 6.75 inches. Width of Teapot: 11.75 inches. Diameter of Tray: 17.5 inches. Weight of Tray: 65 oz. (2021 grams) Overall Weight: 127 oz (3941 grams). All pieces with full Petersen marks and hand made sterling. Petersen’s work draws heavily on the design motifs of his mentor and father-in-law Georg Jensen as Petersen served his apprenticeship in Jensen&#8217;s Copenhagen workshop. Condition: Very good. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Rare Mappin and Webb manner of Christopher Dresser Sterling Silver Teapot 1903. This modernist, aesthetic, sterling silver teapot in the manner of Christopher Dresser with spherical bullet shape body on straight tripod legs, flush inverted lid with ebony finial and ebony carved wood handle. Fully hallmarked Sterling Silver for Mappin and Webb city of Sheffield 1903 and stamped on base with retailers Mappin &amp; Webb London. Original Box leatherette stamped EOH, blue velvet and satin interior stamped for Mappin Brothers 220 Regent Street London W with Royal warrant above. Length of Teapot: 8 inches. Height: 5.40 inches. Depth: 4 inches Gross Weight: 388 grams. Condition: Teapot very good, no issues, reflections from photography only.  Box minor wear.</p>
<p>Dr Christopher Dresser collaborated with many of the well-known Silversmiths of the late 19<sup>th</sup> century including Hukin and Heath, Elkington Co, James Dixon and Mappin and Webb. Dresser designed silverware and other metalwork pieces for Mappin and Webb showcasing his modern geometric and minimalist style. This teapot emphasises simplicity and practical usage in terms of his forward-thinking industrial design approach and in contrast to the more ornate styles of the time … an example of modern industrial design sought after by collectors.</p>
